Amazing! Fussy eaters, you won't be disappointed! OMG the fish n chips is better than Gordan Ramsey's and just as good as the fish n chips in England seaside. Fresh fish with light and tasty batter. The cioppino is the best I ever had. Layers of flavors with perfect texture (when over cooked, it's tough) Service & ambiance is great too of course. I'm a happy camper tonight.

I recently dined at Flaherty's Seafood and Grill in Carmel-by-the-Sea, and overall, it was a great experience. We started with oysters, which were exceptional, fresh, and flavorful. For the main course, we had the fish and chips, which were very, very good - perfectly fried and delicious. While the food was very good, it didn't quite reach that next level of being five-star worthy, but it's certainly solid and worth trying. The service, however, was fantastic. Our waiter, Rodney, really made the experience memorable - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The rest of the staff was also prompt and welcoming. The location itself is very charming and added to the experience. If you're in Carmel, I would definitely recommend giving Flaherty's a try.

We ended up coming here for my better half's birthday. We got a side of clam chowder. The taste was amazing and not too fishy. I always make it a thing to get her cioppino on her birthday. She got that with rice. I got the lobster ravioli with scallop. and a side of pineapple mule. The taste of the ravioli sauce was to die for. The Chioppino tomato sauce was amazing. The restaurant is small and super cute. A couple of tables and a lot of seats around the bar. Our waitress Angela was so sweet and attentive. This restaurant was completely packed and she made sure that we were well taken care of. I let her know it was my Love bday and she said the dessert is on the house. Thank you Angela for taking great care of us. We will definitely be coming back.

Our first night at carmel and it was getting late so we called just to make sure they were still seating since we encountered a no walk-ins restaurant during lunch so we got lucky and they were still seating. It was nice that when we arrived we were able to get bar seating since tables still had a wait. Service was good, the bartender took our order and I was able to use the yelp check-in to get us the free appetizer which was the calamari! Damn fantastic fry on the calamari and so many tentacles since some places skimp on the the tentacles and give more rings. Since we weren't too hungry we ordered the fresh salmon pasta with artichoke and the cook on the salmon was on-point as well as the al dente pasta too. We finished with a slice of chocolate cake and surprisingly it wasn't too dense or rich which was a good way to complete the meal. I took off a star due to lack of ventilation, which did make it a bit stuffy in the restaurant even though outside was nice and cool. As well as bit of very evident favoritism towards certain customers. Overheard one of the staff offering test/free shots to the two guys to our left and asking for them to don't forget to leave a favorable review on yelp. As well as the table of ladies behind us of free shots, just not us. I would understand if the one offering the shots was attending to both parties, but nah, he just showed up after the meal to make the offer.

Hands down one of our favorite places for seafood in Carmel! I made a reservation for us during our early anniversary celebration weekend and could not have picked a better place for us to enjoy a delicious lunch. Service was extremely friendly and fast, and the ambiance was cozy without being stuffy or formal. The door was open, which let in a refreshing sea breeze. There is also an outdoor patio for those dining with their dogs. What originally drew me to Flaherty's was their fresh oysters. We specifically wanted to enjoy oysters on our trip and it's safe to say that Flaherty's has the freshest oysters we've ever tasted at a restaurant. We ordered a dozen and were presented with two different species, served with lemons, cocktail sauce and horseradish, as well as mignonette sauce. Personally, we love the flavor of the oysters without needing to douse them with sauce, so we did not use much of the cocktail/horseradish sauce and mainly opted for the mignonette sauce and lemons instead. We also ordered cocktails with our lunch, and I chose the sazerac while my husband chose the Ruby slipper. Both were quite strong, just as we liked. For our other appetizer, we were very happy to find that upon Yelp check-in, we had an option to choose between two free appetizers. We opted for the crab cake app, which was sooo good. It came with slaw and a delicious corn and bean relish, and the roasted red pepper sauce was creamy and delightful. The crab cake was cooked to perfection with tons of fresh meat inside. We destroyed that appetizer quickly. One of my personal favorite dishes to get at any restaurant that offers seafood is to order the linguine pescatore, and Flaherty's absolutely did not disappoint. It came with loads of fresh seafood, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The prawns were large as well as the mussels, which was always a bonus, and the sherry tomato sauce was spicy and packed a punch with the capers. I loved eating the tiny scallops and finding more with each forkful. It was a big portion as well and filled me up, especially with the other apps we had ordered. My husband ordered the grilled shrimp + lobster louie BLT, which came with a small bowl of lobster bisque. All ingredients were fresh and the bacon was so crispy! There was a good amount of meat on his sandwich and I also got to try some of the bisque, which was creamy and rich. We had our eyes on the paella as well, but that'll have to wait until next time. I was surprised at how big it was when others around us were ordering it, and apparently it is for one person, but we will definitely be sharing that dish. We love Carmel and are so happy we booked Flaherty's for our anniversary lunch. We can't wait to be back and try the paella next time!
